The “New Program Alert” is a security feature of Windows that was designed to inform you in case a program have been installed without your consent, but since it is annoying, let’s remove it.
The “New Program Alert” is a feature introduced with Windows Vista and it highlights new programs in yellow in the Start Menu.
It does disappear after the first time the new program is run, but this tutorial will show you how to stop it from appearing in the first place.
Right click the “Start menu” button and select “Properties”.
In the window that opens, click “Customize”.
Scroll down until you find “Highlight Newly Installed Programs” and uncheck the selection box.
Click OK to confirm the change and then “Ok” again in the previous window.
Now you will not be alerted of any new program any more.
